Vozdukh Project* is the place where ART, society and human beings meet each other and have the chance to engage and connect through body language and movement.
Vozdukh Project applies contemporary plastic theater methodology and is a school of work for the main instrument we have – the body.
*Vozdukh means AIR.
All our initiatives are built on the principles:
STORY, we raise issues/ problems / stories that concern a modern society. As well as us cause we are a part of it.
COMMUNICATION, we have no a concept of "audience", everyone becomes a direct participant of performance and any workshop.
IMPROV, the action is always born at the moment because of what he heard momentum, interactive, history, musicians troupe.
MOVEMENT, body as an object of contemporary art, backed by contact improvisation, acrobatics, modern dance techniques.
We create a theme and every participant becomes a part of the process – sharing stories of life experience or from feelings born directly out of the present moment.
We then locate ways through the body to perform these responses without words.
Our core practice utilizes dance improvisation: a total living of the present moment through the body by means of sincere and authentic responses supplemented by improvisational music.
BEYOND THE WORDS - repertory performance, based on the principle of playback theatre, when the audience shares stories and then see improvisational response of performers and musicians.
I'M NOT AFRAID - actors of VOZDUKH project explore the theme of fear and openly talk about their own, passing on their stories to the audience. The director of performance - Alexander Chusov.
NAKED - performance was born thanks to 12 naked breakfasts and one lunch, where the director of performance Olga Sanachina was discussing what's behind the word "naked" for each of those who came to her for breakfast.
TIME OF CHANGE - Changes in the world (climatic, political, social) impact on our lives. Together, we openly talk about this in our usual body language. The director of performance - Anastasia Vorobyeva.
The Vozdukh Institute is a place where we share our knowledge and experience. There is no judgment, there is no right or wrong movement. Together with our students we study body language as another language we can use every day to bring art to life.
Currently, Institute has
1. VOZDUKH courses - a long-term program of work with the body, which is based on a VOZDUKH method, performance and body practices. The course goes 4 months, activity once a week. Duration of one class is 3 hours.
Basic | Mid | Advanced levels
2. Theme laboratory is the completion of the thematic performances, such as "I am not afraid," "Naked", "Times of change".
For instanse, on Thursday we held performance "I am not afraid," next Monday and Tuesday from 19 to 21:30 held immersion to the topic of fear through body practices used in the performance by troupe.
